THE VIOLA COMMISSIONING CIRCLE
Lawrence Power has been appointed Honorary Artistic Adviser and lead performer to this new initiative, which has been set up by some of his supporters to underwrite the commissioning of up to ten new viola concertos over the next ten years. The aim is to speed up the commissioning process, which can take a long time while co-commissioners are found: the composer’s work cannot start until the money is certain.

I am thrilled by the successful launch of The Viola Commissioning Circle, which will help me to achieve a long-felt aspiration.
